Free-breathing 2D Cine DENSE with Localized Excitation, Self-navigation and Motion Correction

چکیده
Background Cine DENSE MRI is an established myocardial strain imaging technique with high accuracy and rapid data analysis. Current cine DENSE protocols utilize breathholding (BH); however, this practice limits the use of this technique to patients with good BH capabilities, excluding many pediatric and some heart failure patients. We propose a free-breathing (FB) framework for cine DENSE that uses localized excitation, self-navigated motion estimation, and k-space correction to enable FB motioncorrected (MC) imaging.

Feasibility Study: 2-D Self-Navigation using Compressed Sensing Reconstruction for Respiratory Gating in Free-breathing 3-D CINE Imaging
Synopsis We investigate the feasibility of using 2-D self-navigation for respiratory gating for free-breathing whole-heart 3-D CINE imaging, where respirationinduced cardiac motion may be more easily detected than in commonly used 1-D self-navigation methods. We compare self-navigation images, derived gating signals and resulting 3-D CINE images of the 1-D and 2-D methods and nd that respirator...
متن کاملMotion corrected compressed sensing for free-breathing dynamic cardiac MRI.
Compressed sensing (CS) has been demonstrated to accelerate MRI acquisitions by reconstructing sparse images of good quality from highly undersampled data. Motion during MR scans can cause inconsistencies in k-space data, resulting in strong motion artifacts in the reconstructed images. For CS to be useful in these applications, motion correction techniques need to be combined with the undersam...
متن کاملSelf-Navigation with Compressed Sensing for 2D Translational Motion Correction in Free-Breathing Coronary MRI: A Feasibility Study
PURPOSE Respiratory motion correction remains a challenge in coronary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and current techniques, such as navigator gating, suffer from sub-optimal scan efficiency and ease-of-use. To overcome these limitations, an image-based self-navigation technique is proposed that uses "sub-images" and compressed sensing (CS) to obtain translational motion correction in 2D. The...
متن کامل3D free-breathing cardiac cine imaging with respiratory and cardiac self-gating and 3D motion correction
INTRODUCTION Free-breathing cardiac cine imaging with respiratory and cardiac self-gating provides flexibility and convenience for patient scans. Here we propose a 3D radial cardiac cine imaging technique that improves upon self-gating by adding 3D respiratory motion correction. The 3D respiratory motion signals are derived from multiple projections through the data used for image reconstructio...

PURPOSE To develop a method for acquiring whole-heart 3D image-based navigators (iNAVs) with isotropic resolution for tracking and correction of localized motion in coronary magnetic resonance angiography (CMRA). METHODS To monitor motion in all regions of the heart during a free-breathing scan, a variable-density cones trajectory was designed to collect a 3D iNAV every heartbeat in 176 ms wi...
